Light. Matter.
Space-time.
Everything I make begins with light: the sun crossing a room in January, a mineral writing itself onto paper in the darkroom, the light a habitat must carry to a pole of the Moon, where the sun never climbs high. A house is the most intimate of these. I design it the same way, from the light in, until every surface answers how the one who lives there wants to wake, work and rest.
Who it is for
How the people who will live or work there spend the day, what calms them, what drains them, and what will change for them.
LightWhat brings it to life
Where the sun travels through the day and the year, where the morning light falls, how the space looks at night.
MatterWhat it is made of
What the house stands on, what it is made of, and how it will look after years of use. Drawn to the last item in the specification.
